Been asked to design a heaven anh hell sleeve with ‘prison and a ‘tree’ being the only references to go on..so after a while thinking i came up with the idea of an old tree from hell twisting towards the heavens and this person being at a halfway point (the struggle in life) leaving the prison(in this case, the tree’s hold) and reaching towards a better future (the heavens)…enjoy

Been struck down with illness yet again this month but not gonna let this stop me from drawing…I’m working on improving my portraits adding more darkness into them to give a stronger contrast and trying the old skool cross hatching technique with a standard hb pencil…this is the first in my iconic portraits…
originally i did a sketch of my gf’s side profile and made her into a neo-traditional style gypsy…did the outline and left it at that…but now i have taken that sketch and completed it, making it my first full colour flash design…as you can see i don’t do much full colour pieces as i like to specialise in black and grey..however i would like to branch out and do things that i am not familiar with…in this case…PAINTING with COLOUR!!anyway quite happy with the result and i will put the pics of the process throughout…

I’ve been working at my current job intensely for the past month but am really trying to draw when I can..this design took longer than I wanted but he was patient..it’s the same client who wanted the big custom religious sleeve, back for more…which makes me feel good so I must be doing something right!!
I really enjoy drawing statues espicially those with a meaning/story behind it…however it was hard to find decent references on google because i didn’t know which sculpture to search for…lucky i have an Italian friend from Rome who is very knowledgable on the subject and open my eyes to the artist known as Bernini…When i saw the work,i think i had an epiphany!!Also the tattooist i look up to (Juncha) uses alot of his reference…
